OVERAGE VEHICLE - TOYOTA AVENSIS, REGISTRATION NUMBER DC03 DHA pdf icon PDF 60 KB

Minutes:

The Director of Law, HR and Asset Management reported upon an application received to re-licence a Toyota Avensis, registration number DC03 DHA, beyond the normal over-age date for a licensed private hire vehicle. The vehicle had already been re-licensed for a further six months on 30 July 2011.  It had been licensed as a private hire vehicle since 21 October 2008 and had passed the compliance test necessary for a licence to be issued.

 

The owner of the vehicle was present at the meeting with his vehicle which members of the Panel inspected.

 

Councillor S Taylor commented upon the exceptional condition of the vehicle and these comments were reflected by the Panel unanimously.

 

Resolved - That the application to re-licence the Toyota Avensis, registration number DC03 DHA be granted for a further six months.

Minutes:

The Director of Law, HR and Asset Management reported upon an application received to re-licence a Honda Accord, registration number DV03 CWX, beyond the normal over-age date for a licensed private hire vehicle. The vehicle had already been re-licensed for a further six months on 21 July 2011.  It had been licensed as a private hire vehicle since 25 February 2010 and had passed the compliance test necessary for a licence to be issued.

 

The owner of the vehicle was present at the meeting with his vehicle which members of the Panel inspected.

 

Resolved - That the application to re-licence the Honda Accord, registration number DV03 CWX, be granted for a further six months.

EXEMPT INFORMATION - EXCLUSION OF THE PRESS AND PUBLIC

The following items contain exempt information.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  That, under section 100 (A) (4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined by the relevant paragraphs of Part I of Schedule 12A (as amended) to that Act. The Public Interest test has been applied and favours exclusion.

Resolved - That Mr GL’s application for the grant of a Private Hire Driver’s Licence be approved.

Minutes:

The Director of Law, HR and Asset Management reported upon an application received by Mr NKC for the grant of a Private Hire Driver’s Licence.  Mr NKC attended the meeting and made representations in respect of his application for a Private Hire Driver’s Licence.

 

Resolved (3:1) (Councillor S Taylor dissenting) - That Mr NKC’s application for the grant of a Private Hire Driver’s Licence be approved.

Minutes:

The Director of Law, HR and Asset Management reported upon an application received by Mr GDG for the grant of a Private Hire Driver’s Licence.  Mr GDG attended the meeting and made representations in respect of his application for a Private Hire Driver’s Licence.

 

Resolved - That Mr GDG’s application for the grant of a Private Hire Driver’s Licence be approved.

PRIVATE HIRE DRIVER LICENCE - CAUTION INCURRED (BAM)

Minutes:

The Director of Law, HR and Asset Management reported upon an application received by Mr BAM to consider whether he should continue to hold a Private Hire Driver’s Licence.  Mr BAM did not attend the meeting.

 

Resolved - That Mr BAM be instructed to attend a future meeting of this Panel should he wish his application to be considered to be allowed to continue to hold a Private Hire Driver’s Licence.

105.

PRIVATE HIRE DRIVER LICENCE - CONVICTIONS INCURRED (SWP)

Minutes:

The Director of Law, HR and Asset Management reported upon an application received by Mr SWP to consider whether he be allowed to continue to hold a Private Hire Driver’s Licence.  Mr SWP attended the meeting together with his legal representative, Mr Nelson and made representations regarding his application.

 

Members gave due consideration to Mr SWP’s representations.

 

Resolved (3:1) (Councillor S Taylor dissenting) -

 

(1)  That Mr SWP be allowed to continue to hold a Private Hire Driver’s licence.

 

(2)  That Mr SWP be given a severe written warning as to his future conduct.

106.

HACKNEY CARRIAGE DRIVER LICENCE - CONVICTION INCURRED (AWS)

Minutes:

The Director of Law, HR and Asset Management reported upon an application received by Mr AWS to consider whether he be allowed to continue to hold a Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence.  Mr AWS attended the meeting together with his sister, Ms P and made representations regarding his application.

 

Members gave due consideration to Mr AWS’s representations.

 

Resolved - That Mr MDF be allowed to continue to hold a Hackney Carriage Driver’s licence.
