Resolved – That Councillor W Duffey be appointed Chair for this meeting.

The Director of Regeneration reported upon an application received to re-license a Honda Accord, registration number K11 JKC, beyond the normal over-age date for a licensed private hire Vehicle. The vehicle had been re-licensed for a further six months beyond its eighth birthday under delegated powers on 10 May, 2008. It had been licensed as a private hire vehicle since 25 May 2000, and had passed the compliance test necessary for a licence to be issued.

The owner of the vehicle was present at the meeting with his vehicle which members of the Panel inspected.

 

Resolved - That the application for a Private Hire Vehicle Licence in respect of a Honda Accord vehicle, registration number K11 JKC, be granted for a further six months.

The Director of Regeneration reported upon an application received to re-license a Ford Mondeo, registration number W742 JCT, beyond the normal over-age date for a licensed private hire Vehicle. The vehicle had been re-licensed for a further six months beyond its eighth birthday under delegated powers on 12 June, 2008. It had been licensed as a private hire vehicle since 27 June 2000, and had passed the compliance test necessary for a licence to be issued.

The owner of the vehicle was present at the meeting with his vehicle which members of the Panel inspected.

 

Resolved - That the application for a Private Hire Vehicle Licence in respect of a Ford Mondeo vehicle, registration number W742 JCT , be granted for a further six months.

Exempt Information - Exclusion of the press and public

The following items contain exempt information.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  That, under section 100 (A) (4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined by the relevant paragraphs of Part I of Schedule 12A (as amended) to that Act.

HACKNEY CARRIAGE DRIVER LICENCE - APPLICATION (LKB)

Minutes:

The Director of Regeneration reported upon an application from Mr LKB for the grant of a Hackney Carriage Driver Licence. Mr LKB did not attend the meeting.

 

Resolved - That Mr LKB be instructed to attend a future meeting of the Panel should he wish to pursue his application

 

 

 

7.

PRIVATE HIRE DRIVER LICENCE - CONVICTION INCURRED (IAD)

Minutes:

The Director of Regeneration requested the Panel to consider whether Mr IAD was a fit and proper person to continue to hold a Private Hire Driver Licence. Mr IAD attended the meeting.

 

Resolved - That Mr IAD be allowed to continue to hold his Private Hire Driver's Licence and that he be warned as to his future conduct.

8.

PRIVATE HIRE DRIVER LICENCE - APPLICATION (JE)

Minutes:

The Director of Regeneration reported upon an application received from Mr JE for the grant of a Private Hire Driver Licence. Mr JE did not attend the meeting.

 

Resolved - That Mr JE be instructed to attend a future meeting of the Panel should he wish to pursue his application

 

 

 

 

9.

PRIVATE HIRE DRIVER LICENCE - APPLICATION (KJN)

Minutes:

The Director of Regeneration reported upon an application received from Mr CJN for the grant of a Private Hire Driver Licence. Mr CJN attended the meeting.

 

Resolved - That the application from Mr CJN for the grant of a Private Hire Driver’s Licence be approved.

The Chair reported that he had agreed to accept the following item of business:-

The Director of Regeneration reported upon an application received from Mr HY for the grant of a Private Hire Driver Licence. Mr HY attended the meeting.

 

Resolved – That this matter be deferred pending the outcome of Mr HY’s court case.
