The Director of Regeneration reported upon an application received to re-license a Ford Mondeo, registration number X448 OSS, beyond the normal over-age date for a licensed private hire vehicle. The vehicle had been re-licensed twice for a further six months under delegated powers on 1 September 2008. It had been licensed as a private hire vehicle since 1 September 2000, and had passed the compliance test necessary for a licence to be issued.

 

The owner of the vehicle was present at the meeting with his vehicle which members of the Panel inspected.

 

Resolved - That the application for a Private Hire Vehicle Licence in respect of a Ford Mondeo vehicle, registration number X448 OSS  be granted for a further six months due to the exceptional condition of the vehicle.

The Director of Regeneration reported upon an application received to re-license a Toyota Avensis, registration number W249 RDM, beyond the normal over-age date for a licensed private hire vehicle. The vehicle had been re-licensed twice for a further six months under delegated powers on 9 February  2008. It had been licensed as a private hire vehicle since 24 March 2000, and had passed the compliance test necessary for a licence to be issued.

 

The owner of the vehicle was present at the meeting with his vehicle which members of the Panel inspected.

 

Resolved - That the application for a Private Hire Vehicle Licence in respect of a Toyota Avensis, registration number W249 RDM, be granted for a further six months due to the exceptional condition of the vehicle.

PRIVATE HIRE VEHICLE LICENCE - VAUXHALL VIVARO - APPLICATION TO LICENSE TWO FRONT SEAT PASSENGERS pdf icon PDF 47 KB

Minutes:

The Director of Regeneration reported upon an application to license a Vauxhall Vivaro as a private hire vehicle to carry eight passengers, two passengers being carried in the front.

 

Resolved – That, having inspected vehicle, the panel consider that there is insufficient space to carry two passengers in the front of the vehicle safely and therefore recommend to the Licensing Health and Safety and General purposes Committee that the application be refused.

PRIVATE HIRE DRIVER LICENCE - APPLICATION - JDB

Minutes:

The Director of Regeneration reported upon an application received from Mr JDB for the grant of a Private Hire Driver Licence. Mr JDB attended the meeting and explained the circumstances of his conviction.

 

Resolved - That the application from Mr JDB for the grant of a Private Hire Driver Licence, be approved.

25.

PRIVATE HIRE DRIVER LICENCE - CONVICTIONS INCURRED - BAM

Minutes:

The Director of Regeneration requested the Panel to consider whether Mr BAM was a fit and proper person to continue to hold a Private Hire Driver Licence. Mr BAM attended the meeting and explained the circumstances of his convictions.

 

Resolved  – That Mr BAM be allowed to continue to hold a Private Hire Driver Licence but that he be issued with a warning as to his future conduct.

 

 

26.

PRIVATE HIRE DRIVER LICENCE - APPLICATION - TAW

Minutes:

The Director of Regeneration reported upon an application received from Mr TAW for the grant of a Private Hire Driver Licence. Mr TAW attended the meeting and explained the circumstances of his convictions.

 

Resolved - That the application from Mr TAW for the grant of a Private Hire Driver Licence be deferred for further information.

The panel considered an application by Mr TEP for the renewal of his Private Hire Driver Licence. Mr TEP attended the meeting and explained the reasons for his convictions.

 

Resolved - That the application from Mr TEP for the renewal of his Private Hire Driver Licence, be approved.
