Minutes:

The chair opened the meeting and welcomed 2 members of the public to the meeting.  He advised as it was a very poor turnout there was no need to go through the formal agenda and asked if the members of the public had any questions to the Councillors and Officers that were in attendance.

Two further members of the public arrived at 7.30pm (the meeting had already started)

Minutes:

Member of public:

There is constant smoking and foul language outside of the Crossbar what can be done about this.

Response:

Has this been reported to local Councillors or the Police?  Although there is a designated smoking area, we cannot stop people from smoking outside of the premises; If the foul language continues then it should be reported to the Police.

Member of public:

There is a bus stop on Pasture Road near Morris Jones Court that is full of undesirable characters, can this bus stop be removed or relocated to stop this happening?

Response:

Tracey Smith advised she would contact Merseytravel about this issue.

Member of the public:

Gentleman from Wallasey Amateur Boxing Club stated that he had received some funding from Area Forum to provide a tarmac running track.  The work that was done is not up to standard and the contractor has been contacted but won't do anything about it. Can the Council help?

Response:

A representative from Streetscene will come along and assess the work, and give a written report to the boxing club, it was then suggested that they could contact the Citizens Advice Bureau with the report to see what help could be given to them.

Member of the public:

At Stafford train station there is plastic bubble bank where you can deposit used chewing gum to be recycled.  Have Wirral Council thought of doing this to combat the chewing gum problem on pavements etc

Response:

Tracey Smith will contact Rob Clifford who is co-ordinating the keep it local initiative and make him aware of this to see if it is something that Wirral Council can do.

The chair closed the meeting at 8.00pm
