No such declarations were made.

PRIVATE HIRE VEHICLE LICENCE APPLICATION - TOYOTA AURIS, REGISTRATION NUMBER SN14 UAZ pdf icon PDF 106 KB

Minutes:

The Director of Law and Corporate Services reported upon an application received to license a Toyota Auris, registration number SN14 UAZ as a Private Hire Vehicle outside of the current criteria for licensing Private Hire Vehicles which states that a vehicle presented for the grant of a Private Hire Vehicle Licence must have been compliant with Euro 6 emission standards at the date of first registration.

 

The proprietor of the vehicle advised officers prior to the meeting that they no longer wished the application to be considered.

 

Resolved – That this matter be withdrawn.

EXEMPT INFORMATION - EXCLUSION OF THE PRESS AND PUBLIC

The following items contain exempt information.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  That, under section 100 (A) (4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined by the relevant paragraphs of Part 1 of Schedule 12A (as amended) to that Act.  The Public Interest test has been applied and favours exclusion.

PRIVATE HIRE DRIVER LICENCE APPLICATION (AM)

Minutes:

The Director of Law and Corporate Services submitted a report for Members to consider whether AM should be granted a Private Hire Driver Licence.

 

AM attended the meeting and made representations in respect of the application.  AM responded to questions from Members of the Panel.

 

Members gave due consideration to the representations made and exercised their rights to consider each case on its individual merits in light of the representations made.

 

In determining the matter Members also gave serious consideration to their overriding responsibility in respect of the protection and safety of the public. 

 

Resolved - That AM’s application for a Private Hire Driver Licence be granted.

Minutes:

The Director of Law and Corporate Services submitted a report for Members to consider whether NJ should be granted a Private Hire Driver Licence.

 

NJ attended the meeting and made representations in respect of the application.  NJ responded to questions from Members of the Panel.

 

Members gave due consideration to the representations made and exercised their rights to consider each case on its individual merits in light of the representations made.

 

In determining the matter Members also gave serious consideration to their overriding responsibility in respect of the protection and safety of the public. 

 

Resolved - That NJ’s application for a Private Hire Driver Licence be granted.

PRIVATE HIRE DRIVER LICENCE REVIEW (PJ)

Minutes:

The Director of Law and Corporate Services submitted a report for Members to consider whether PJ should continue to hold a Private Hire Driver Licence.

 

PJ attended the meeting and made representations. PJ responded to questions from Members and the legal advisor to the Panel.

 

Members considered carefully the responses made by PJ.

 

In determining the matter Members gave serious consideration to their overriding responsibility in respect of the protection and safety of the public. 

 

Resolved –

 

(1)  That PJ be allowed to continue to hold a Private Hire Driver Licence.

 

(2)  That PJ must undertake an Independent Driving Assessment Course within 2 months and achieve a rate of good or very good in their final assessment.

 

(3)  That PJ be issued with a written warning from the Licensing Panel.
