Reason for urgency:
The spending plan for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund for Wirral has just been agreed at regional and national level; this includes an extension of CCTV provision for 2023/4. This needs to be procured forthwith to meet the spending deadline. An element of this provision brings additional capacity to tackle serious organised crime and provide community reassurance; given recent events within the borough this needs to be expediated. Any delay will significantly hamper multi-agency efforts to tackle violent crime.
