Minute 10 - GRIEVANCE APPEAL | ||
Exempt : NOT FOR PUBLICATION: Exempt by virtue of paragraph 1, Part I, Schedule 12A (as amended), Local Government Act 1972 |
Minute Text : The Sub-Committee convened to consider the grievance appeal of an employee in the Regeneration Department. The appellant was represented by Mr K Birch of UNISON. |
Minute Decision : Resolved - (1) That, having considered carefully all the evidence, the Appeals Sub-Committee does not find that there was a persistent pattern of bullying or unreasonable behaviour towards the appellant by the appellant's line management although for two of the three complaints they did not manage the appellant as well as they could have done. (2) The Appeals Sub-Committee upholds the appeal in relation to two of the appellant's three specific complaints. (3) The Appeals Sub-Committee finds that the errors of judgement by management did not, however, warrant formal censure but an appropriate remedy would be an apology from the Head of Service to the appellant for the distress the two incidents caused. |
