Virtual Committee (Wirral Intranet Information Items)
Thursday, 1st November 2007

Venue : Internet - Internet

Item 1 - VIRTUAL COMMITTEE - EXPLANATORY NOTE

Summary:

The purpose of the Virtual Committee is to bring to the attention of Council members (and the public) various matters where it is not considered necessary to report them to the Cabinet (or its Executive Board) for a decision, nor to any of the overview and scrutiny (O & S) committees, or where the matter is one of wider interest. However, that does not preclude any Council member from requesting that one of the items submitted here for information be added to the agenda of the relevant overview and scrutiny committee for further examination (see O & S Procedure Rule 9, within the Constitution).

The agenda for the Virtual Committee will be published on the 1st of each month, and any reports that become available during that month will be added to it (but if they are not ready until the end of the month they would be added to the subsequent month's agenda). Council members will receive regular reminders of what items have been added, and copies of the reports will be filed in the Members' Room.

Where a report contains exempt information, the fact that it is so marked will ensure that only those authorised to do so can view it.

Item 2 - CULTURE, TOURISM AND LEISURE: PARKS AND OPEN SPACES - INDIVIDUAL MANAGEMENT PLANS

Summary:

This item consists of 16 individual management plans for various parks and open spaces across the Borough. Together with four plans that appeared on the Virtual Committee agenda in May, and which were considered in more detail by the Culture, Tourism and Leisure Overview and Scrutiny Committee, they form the first phase of an overall programme that will eventually see some 150 individual plans in place, covering all parks and open spaces. The Culture, etc. Committee will be considering the next phase, consisting of a further 30 plans, at its meeting on 22 November. All members, as ward councillors, will be alerted to that list, and any comments that they might wish to make to the Committee should be passed initially to Dave Cowling, Head of Parks & Countryside.
