Item 1 - PROCEDURAL MATTERS
Recommendation:
That,
(1) the Terms of Reference and Membership of the Joint Committee be noted;
(2) a Chair for the Joint Committee for 2007/08 be appointed;
(3) a Secretary to the Joint Committee for 2007/08 be appointed;
(4) a Vice Chair for the Joint Committee for 2007/08 be appointed;
(5) any Declarations of Interest under the Members’ Code of Conduct be noted;
(6) the minutes of the meeting of the Joint Committee held on 27 March be confirmed as a correct record; and
(7) the Committee agrees the number of meetings it wishes to hold for the remainder of the municipal year and the venues for each meeting.

Item 2 - CHIEF EXECUTIVE'S REPORT
Summary:
This report has been prepared to provide an overview of any current issues in the Trust and clarify any outstanding concerns or questions previously raised by the Committee. Areas of potential interest that the Committee may wish to be further informed about have also been referenced.

Item 3 - ADULT AND OLDER PEOPLE'S BED MANAGEMENT ISSUES
Summary:
The impact of this Adults and Older Peoples redesign paper is to inform and assure the Operational Board of the consequences and impacts on service delivery of the decision to redesign inpatient services at the end of November 2006. The redesign proposals were to ensure the efficient and effective use of inpatient beds and to enable service users to receive the most appropriate care in the most appropriate setting by offering choice.
