Minute Text : The Sub-Committee convened to consider the grievance appeal of an employee in the Adult Social Services Department. |
||
Minute Decision : Resolved - (1) The Sub-Committee has concerns that there will be insufficient time to deal with this complex case in one day. (2) The Sub-Committee also notes that there were elements of the appellant's grievance contained in his original letter of 18 September, 2006 which are not addressed in the Director of Adult Social Services' replies to the questions contained in the appellant's email of 17 January, 2007. (3) Consequently neither the Sub-Committee nor the appellant can know what the Director's response to those grievances are, putting the appellant at a disadvantage in presenting his case today. (4) The Sub-Committee is therefore proposing that the hearing today be adjourned, to enable; (a) the Director of Adult Social Services to provide his written replies to the appellant's original grievances which are not contained in his replies to the appellant's questions of 17 January, 2007; (b) the appellant to have an opportunity to reply in writing to the Director's response to the outstanding grievances. (5) That the Sub-Committee will reconvene to hear the grievance on 2 and 3 July, 2007. (6) In the meantime the Sub-Committee would respectfully urge the appellant to consider seeking professional advice in presenting his case. |
