The report of the Director of Children’s Services seeks approval for funding a scheme to modify the home of relative carers to support the provision of a permanent home to allow one child (Child H) to remain in their care under a Special Guardianship Order. It recommends the most appropriate scheme to meet the needs for permanence for Child H.

The report indicates that £29,452 of this year’s Family Support Scheme has been committed to date.  The Family Support Scheme has an annual budget of £100,000.

Resolved –

(1)  That as part of the Family Support Scheme, a grant of £53,712.00 be made in respect of the case H in the report now submitted, to fund a two storey extension of the family home.

(2)  That the grant be subject to a formal agreement between the Council and relevant parties.
