UPDATE PROVIDED BY MERSEYSIDE FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICES

Minutes:

In the absence of Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, the Constituency Manager provided the Committee with an update between 1st October 2017 and 4 March 2018

 

  Deliberate secondary fires – 33

   

  Deliberate vehicle fires – 6 (2 x van, 2 x motorcycle, 1 x dumper truck & 1 x car)

 

  There is no particular fire hotspot in Wirral South however over the past few weeks there have been a number of deliberately started fires on Heswall Dales.

 

  Operation Banger – 41% reduction in deliberate secondary fires (Wirral wide) compared to 2016There have been 3 deliberate secondary (ASB) fires in Wirral South

 

Cllr L Rowlands – major house fire caused by a washing machine urged everyone to check their electrical appliances.

 

Cllr P Gilchrist- No figures on house fires. Request that these figures to be included in the presentation for future constituency meetings.

Minutes:

In the absence of Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, the Constituency Manager provided the Committee with an update.

 

  There have been 37 deliberate secondary (ASB) fires in Wirral South from 1st June 2017 to date

  The only repeat locations have been near to The Oval Sports Centre with 2 fires and 4 fires on Whitfield Common involving grass/gorse

  A location of concern is the former Archers Public House on Mark Rake. There was a fire in this building in August

.

Meeting: 21/06/2017 - Constituency Committee - Wirral South (Item 58)

Update provided by Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service

To receive an oral report from the Constituency Manager on behalf of Ritchie Clarke - Station Manager.

 

Minutes:

In the absence of Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, the Constituency Manager provided the Committee with an update.

 

Since 1st April 2017 22 deliberate fires had been set, there was no pattern or hot spot all at random locations. Neighbourhood Police Inspector Georgina Minnery informed the Committee that every week there is a Threat Harm Risk Meetings jointly being held were these matters are discussed.
