PRIVATE HIRE VEHICLE LICENCE APPLICATION - RENAULT LAGUNA, REGISTRATION NUMBER HV57 0ZF pdf icon PDF 89 KB

Minutes:

The Managing Director for Delivery reported upon an application to re-license a Renault Laguna, registration number HV57 0ZF, beyond the normal over-age date for a licensed private hire vehicle.  The date of first registration of the vehicle was 20 September 2007.  It had been licensed as a private hire vehicle since 3 March 2016 and the current licence was due to expire on 20 September 2017.  The vehicle had passed the compliance test necessary for a licence to be issued.

 

The owner of the vehicle was present at the meeting with his vehicle, which Members of the Panel inspected.

 

RESOLVED: That the application to re-license the Renault Laguna, registration number HV57 0ZF, be granted for a further six months.

EXEMPT INFORMATION - EXCLUSION OF THE PRESS AND PUBLIC

The following items contain exempt information.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  That, under section 100 (A) (4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined by the relevant paragraphs of Part I of Schedule 12A (as amended) to that Act. The Public Interest test has been applied and favours exclusion.

Minutes:

The Managing Director for Delivery reported upon an application received by Mr MM for the grant of a Private Hire Driver Licence.  Mr MM attended the meeting and made representations in respect of his application for a Private Hire Driver Licence. 

 

Mr MM responded to questions from the Panel.

 

Members considered the representations made by Mr MM regarding the number and nature of his convictions.  Members had regard to their Policy and on this occasion found no reason to act outside their Policy.

 

Members applied the principle of proportionality enshrined within the Human Rights Act 1998 and considered that the protection and safety of members of the public was of paramount concern.

 

RESOLVED:

That Mr MM’s application for the grant of a Private Hire Driver Licence be refused.

The Managing Director for Delivery reported upon an application received by Mr AQ for the grant of a Private Hire Driver Licence.  Mr AQ attended the meeting and made representations in respect of his application for a Private Hire Driver Licence. 

 

Mr AQ responded to questions from the Panel.
