APPOINTMENT OF CHAIR

Minutes:

On a motion by Councillor C Meaden and seconded by Councillor M Hornby, it was –

 

Resolved – That Councillor H Smith be appointed Chair for this meeting.

Exempt Information - Exclusion of Members of the Public

The public may be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information.

 

RECOMMENDED – That in accordance with section 100A (4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following item of business, on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined by the relevant paragraphs of Part 1 of Schedule 12A (as amended) to that Act. The public interest test has been applied and favours exclusion.

Dismissal Appeal

To determine the dismissal appeal of a member of the Regeneration, Housing and Planning Department.

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee convened to consider the appeal by an employee in the Regeneration, Housing and Planning Department against the decision of the Acting Head of Strategic Development and Regeneration to dismiss her from her current post. The appellant was represented by Mr A Bate of UNISON.

 

Resolved – That, having heard all of the evidence and each side having summed up their case, the meeting stand adjourned until 3 August 2012.

Reconvened Meeting - 3 August 2012

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee reconvened to consider the evidence presented at the meeting on 26 July 2012.

 

Resolved – That having considered carefully all of the evidence, the Appeals Sub-Committee upholds the appeal.
