Appointment of Chair

Minutes:

On a motion by Councillor McLaughlin, seconded by Councillor Anderson, it was –

 

Resolved – That Councillor Johnston take the Chair for this meeting.

Exempt Information - Exclusion of Members of the Public

The public may be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information.

 

Minutes:

Resolved - That, under section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined by paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 12A (as amended) to that Act.

Dismissal Appeal

To determine the dismissal appeal of a member of the Finance Department.

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee convened to consider the appeal by an employee in the Finance Department against the decision of the Head of Revenues, Benefits and Customer Services to dismiss him from his current post.

 

Resolved (2:0) (Councillor McLaughlin abstaining) - That, having considered carefully all the evidence, the Appeals Sub-Committee dismisses the appeal and upholds the decision of the Head of Revenues, Benefits and Customer Services to dismiss the appellant from his post for gross misconduct.
