Lindsay Davidson presented the Head of Service Report.

In terms of the GIRLS Project, it was clarified that, after the Public Health funding has come to an end in March 2015, there will be a full evaluation report of the project.  It is anticipated that in the future the project will still run but to a lesser extent, due to limited resources.

It was noted that the Lads Project was a pilot scheme, which has further developed in the South Wirral area, funded by the Wirral South constituency.  The residential at the end of the project helps to consolidate learning and is a focus for young people to attend.

Paddy Mulligan gave a presentation which informed the committee of how play schemes are supporting the primary school curriculum.

The report was presented by Deborah Gornik who outlined the rationale for reviewing YAPSAC’s terms of reference. 

The committee agreed that YAPSAC be reviewed and while this process was being undertaken the meetings to be removed from the council’s calendar of meetings.

Cllr Smith thanked all officers and councillors for attending.
