A report by the Director of Finance informed the Cabinet that the Final Local Government Finance Settlement for 2011/13 had been announced on 31 January 2011 for debate in Parliament on 9 February 2011.  This had contained some minor changes to the Provisional Settlement that was announced on 13 December 2010 and reported to Cabinet on 13 January 2011.

The Committee had considered it prudent for the Cabinet to prepare a submission for the Department of Communities and Local Government outlining how Wirral had made savings, utilised its reserves and had secured efficiencies without compulsory redundancies but highlighting the difficulties facing the Borough.
