Stop The Garden Tax
We the undersigned petition the council to ask Wirral cabinet to reject any proposal to charge, via a subscription, for the collection of garden waste and to maintain the current service as an inclusive service.
We believe such a move would have a negative impact on recycling rates and impose an unfair garden tax on people whose only crime is to own a garden

Council response
Charging residents for the collection of garden waste is the subject of one of the Chief Executive's budget options published for consultation by the Council on 9th November 2012.
The results of this E-petition will be considered as part of the decision-making process in relation to this budget option.
