MEMBERS' CODE OF CONDUCT - DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

Minutes:

Members were asked to declare any disclosable pecuniary or non pecuniary interests in connection with any item(s) on the agenda and, if so, to declare them and state the nature of the interest.

 

Councillor Wendy Clements declared a non pecuniary interest by virtue of being a Governor of Brookdale Primary.

 

Councillor Walter Smith declared a non pecuniary interest by virtue of being a Governor of the University Academy, Birkenhead and a member of Oaklands Centre Management Committee.

Sue Talbot, Strategic Service Manager, Early Years and Primary Education, reported that there were no recent OFSTED inspections for early years centres and children’s centres.

Stuart Bellerby, Strategic Service Manager, Secondary Education and Lifelong Learning, reported that there were no Secondary Schools reported in OFSTED categories.

Stuart Bellerby, Strategic Service Manager, Secondary Education and Lifelong Learning, reported upon Woodchurch High School Engineering College that had been inspected in July 2012. He noted the main findings of the inspection and reported that the overall effectiveness of the school was ‘Good’. Stuart Bellerby also reported upon St Mary’s Catholic College that had been inspected in October 2012 and was the first Wirral secondary school to be inspected under the new OFSTED framework. He noted the main findings of the inspection and reported that the overall effectiveness was ‘Requires Improvement’.

 

Recommended – That the reports be noted.

He noted the main findings of the inspection and reported that the overall effectiveness of the school was ‘Outstanding’. Stuart Bellerby also reported upon Meadowside School and Foxfield School that had been inspected in October 2012 and October/November 2012 respectively. He noted the main findings of the inspections and reported that the overall effectiveness for both schools was ‘Good’.
